Google is teaming up with the makers of KitKat for the next release of its Android operating system.

"Tech Crunch" says the tech giant has struck a trademark deal with the Hershey Company to use the candy bar as its brand-name for its new system.

Android has a tradition of naming each version of Android after desserts like "Jelly Bean" and "Ice Cream Sandwich."

A new contest promotes the partnership offering buyers of specially-marked KitKat packages a chance to win a free Nexus tablet.
