(New York, NY)  --  It's the end of an era for Loehmann's which has closed all 39 of its remaining stores.  Shoppers in New York City who loved Loehmann's for their deeply-discounted designer duds were sad to say goodbye to the retailer and many rushed out to stores yesterday for one last buying trip before the doors closed for good.

The 92-year-old company been struggling for years in a stagnant retail climate that featured competition from Marshall's, Daffy's, T.J. Maxx and Filene's Basement.

The discount chain started liquidating its inventory last month after failing to find a buyer.
